Students are expected to attend the trip for which they are registered. Official excuses may be given by the CAL office for absences due toillness requiring hospitalization, death of a first degree relative, mobility altering injuries, or other emergencies. FALL BREAK & WEEKEND TRIPS 50% of the total trip price will be due as a non-refundable deposit 15 business days prior to the trip start date. The remaining trip balance is due no later than the Monday before the trip start date by 5pm to the business office. SPRING BREAK TRIPS A $125 non-refundable deposit is due by February 1st. The remaining balance is due no later than 10 business days prior to the trip start date. All payments are due in the Business office, which is located above the commons in the student center. If for any reason your deposit is not received by the designated date we reserve the right to give your spot away. In the event of a previously mentioned emergency your non-refundable deposit may be applied to another CAL trip within the same academic year. Gear Discounts on Trip Prices In an effort to encourage students to become knowledgeable about gear, to encourage gear use on their personal adventures when gear is not available to rent, and also to increase the longevity of Center for Adventure Learning’s gear we provide discounts off the total trip price for those bringing their own climbing and/or camping gear. The discounts are as follows: $5 discount for bringing your own climbing shoes & harness $5 discount for bringing at least 2 of these 3: backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping pad
